Discover & Classify·Data classification and context enrichment
Find sensitive files. Turn classification into control.
Discover who created a file, who owns it, when it changed and which policies apply. Classify its content and context into a sensitivity category, then use that decision to trigger policy-driven protection in supported workflows.
See it. Classify it. Seal it.
How Discover & Classify works
Know the file. Classify with context.
Discover reveals the file’s metadata and associated policies. Classify combines that context with content analysis to assign the right sensitivity category.

One policy-informed decision
The category can trigger protection through Vaultize Seal when configured policy requires it.
Metadata availability depends on the connected system and supported deployment. Categories follow your configured taxonomy.
Context enrichment
30+
Signals that give policy context.
Discovery builds the file’s context: identity, ownership, activity, access and associated policies. Classification adds sensitivity. Together, these signals inform how the file should be handled. Discover & Classify supports more than thirty metadata attributes; availability depends on the connected system and deployment.
Identity
What the file is
Which classification rules apply, and which taxonomy label fits.
Mark persistently · Seal on classification
The moment a file is classified, it is already protected.
Classification labels and watermarks are designed to travel with the file, visible to every viewer and persisting through copy and forward in supported workflows. Classification metadata is embedded in the file itself so the policy decision remains available when the file is renamed, copied or moved.
When policy calls for protection, the classification event hands the file to Vaultize Seal, which can apply rights and encryption in the same workflow. The decision is recorded in the audit trail and is designed to persist through supported rename, copy and move operations.
- Persistent visual watermarks
- Per-session identity watermark
- Classification metadata embedded in the file
- Real-time hand-off to Vaultize Seal
- Auto-applied protection profile
- Immutable audit trail
Where Discover & Classify fits
Three estates that stop being a report and start being governed.
01
Locate regulated personal data
A DPO must know where Aadhaar, PAN and other personal identifiers live.
Find PII and sensitive identifiers across repositories and endpoints, then align handling with DPDP, Aadhaar and PAN rule packs. The record shows what was found and how it was classified.
Explore the DPDP mapping02
Bring accumulated files under control
Years of unclassified content grow faster than anyone can tag it.
Discover and classify in bulk, inherit labels from folder structure and prior versions, and seal confidential content as it is classified, so a backlog becomes a governed estate.
Explore sensitive data discovery03
Govern third-party sharing
Contracts, case files and submissions leave the building every day.
Use classification context to trigger protection before sensitive files move to vendors, partners or external recipients. What leaves, leaves under policy.

Part of one platform
Classify once. Apply the decision across Vaultize.
Discover & Classify is where the journey begins. The context it captures informs the rest of the platform through one policy engine, one audit plane and one administrative surface.
Vaultize Seal
Protect at source
The classification triggers Seal’s DRM in the same operation: rights, encryption and watermark bound to the file.
Explore Vaultize SealGovernance and evidence
Every classification decision leaves evidence.
Separation of duties is built in, so no single role can both set the rules and quietly weaken the consequences. Every label, override and reclassification is recorded in an immutable audit trail.
01
Security and compliance define the classification taxonomy and the rule packs.
02
Business owners apply classification inside their own domains, where they understand the content.
03
End users confirm or correct labels at the moments they know the file best.
04
Platform administrators operate the system but do not author the taxonomy.
